A b o u t Me
Sequoia was started by me, Aleda (hi!), and my love for the wild, and impacting art. What started out as stencils with spray paint, slowly evolved into screen printing on fabric.
Many of the shirts you see today are all created from my drawings, inspired by my connection with nature. From all the hikes and getting lost in forests, to the mountain views and sand-filled shoes. If I'm not in the shop, there's a good chance I'm in the mountains or on the coast. And I guess this my little way of trying to give back.
I use all eco-friendly water-based inks, and print on only the best blanks made by socially responsible companies. In a dream world, I’d love to make more of a difference, but I can’t do that without your help, which is why every month I’ll make a donation of 10% of my profits to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
From the simple beginnings of spray painting in my kitchen, trying not to make TOO much of a mess, to creating a full print shop in my basement, we’re still just getting started. Although there are many people that help out along the way, I’m still the only one screen printing each piece purchased by hand. This will never change as it’s what I love to do!
